Buying Information for this toy
I looked all over our city for this and it is sold out everywhere but I was in Sams Club and they have a bonus pack for $26 which has the travel mat included. Just alittle cheaper than some of the internet pricing I've seen. Toys get popular, prices double. Its shameful.

Mom of 3 boys
Never saw a bigger smile on my 6 year olds face. The marbles do damage quite easily so one must be careful with them.

This is exactly what my son was looking for. The product was in great shape & shipped fast.
I was so pleased because you just can't find these in the store. He plays it all of the time.

It's Cute and Great for a child who has no dog.
It's a great and cute toy. It performs Like it's suppose to, but my daughter lost interest quickly. However, I think it's because we have two dogs. Excellent toy for 18 month old child
Product is as advertised and quite entertaining for my 18 months old grandson. He had seen it a birthday party and fell it love with it so I decided to buy one for him.

Moving, Talking, Dancing Elmo!
Elmo Live! features the furry, bright-red exterior and the big eyes characteristic of the popular Sesame Street character. He features complex actions that give him a life-like quality: His mouth and head move while he talks, sings, and tells stories; he gestures with his arms, and he moves his legs. He even crosses his legs when he sits on the included stool.

We found him very easy to play with -- just press his buttons to get him going. Press Elmo's foot and he will sit down on his stool to tell you a story. He even gestures to act out parts of his stories! Squeeze his nose, and he'll make a variety of silly sounds; he'll even ask you if you "have his nose" and ask you to give it back to him. Squeeze his hand, and he'll dance. Elmo even blows kisses, asks for hugs, and says he loves you. He tells jokes, acts ticklish, and more.

When he's laid on his back, or if your child doesn't play with him for a while, Elmo will go into a battery-save mode. He'll yawn, say he's tired, and shut down. Just press one of his buttons to get him going again.

Interactive Fun for Kids of Many Ages
We particularly enjoyed that, unlike some other "talking" toys, Elmo Live! doesn't just spout programmed phrases. Instead, he asks for interaction, and he responds as if your child is responding to him. For example, when he will ask for a hug and then say "thank you" as if he's received one, or he'll say he's ticklish and then will "respond" as if your child is tickling him. This makes an almost magical experience for your child, as if her toy is really coming to life.

The wide variety of things that Elmo Live! can do makes him a great toy to grow with your child. Younger children can engage in cause-and-effect play by simply pressing Elmo's buttons to see what he does. Our two-year-old tester was especially delighted with the silly sounds Elmo makes when his nose is squeezed. Understandably, her attention meandered during the somewhat lengthy stories. However, an older child will have the attention span and comprehension skills to appreciate them, as well as the silly jokes that Elmo tells.

Tips on Playing with Elmo! Live
Elmo makes lots of fun movements and gestures -- the only slight drawback is that his movements generate a somewhat loud, mechanical sound that sometimes interferes with being able to understand what Elmo is saying. He also has to be on a hard, flat surface -- otherwise he has a tendency to fall over. This in itself has a fun effect, however. When he falls over, Elmo asks you to help him back up again, and when he's put back upright, he'll say "thank you." Also, since his nose has to be squeezed with a bit of force to activate him, our two-year-old tester sometimes needed assistance with it.

Elmo Live! comes with 6 AA batteries. A Phillips screwdriver is required to replace them.

Loads of fun for all ages!
While not the best thing to look at in the graphics department (especially during multiplayer races), this game manages to be extremely fun. The control scheme(s) are great, and while I am better when using the Wiimote/nunchuch scheme, I find myself wanting to use the Wii Wheel most often because it adds to the fun. The bottom line here is that everyone can enjoy this game, and the multiplayer never gets old. The best thing I can say about this game is that I will be playing it for as long as I own a Wii. A definite must buy for the Wii.

One of Nintendo's best ideas yet
First of all, I give this game 5 stars because of the overall fun and playability level. You can play other people around the world in battles and races. We have probably spent more time playing this game than any other Nintendo game with the exception of Mario Kart for the N64. I love the "wheel" concept although you don't need a wheel to play. I have a couple complaints: the power ups are kind of lame compared to all of the other Mario Kart games. They are also harder to get it seems. My other complaint is that you can be in first place and end up in near-to-last place in about 3 seconds, it seems you have little control of this. It is almost a fluke if you win, whereas in other Mario Karts it was more directly tied to your skill level. Overall, it is so fun to battle and race people from other countries that I love this game. Sometimes you will be racing people from the UK, the US, France, Japan, and Australia all at once. SO fun! I hope Nintendo comes out with more games like this!

Great Fun for the Whole Family
Simply put, my wife and I get a kick out of the game, and our 3.5 year old son loves it. We don't really play for points, or winning anything, just mainly to have fun. And this game comes through in spades in that department. The controls are easy, which makes the game playable and fun even for younger kids. It is a must-own for the Wii in my opinion.

Worked as advertised
Pretty easy to do. requires a temperate environment not in direct sunlight. The kids loved it and had a great time when they shared it at daycare. [...]

Be aware that you have to send or fax in the certificate. It is odd that the refills [...] from insect lore essentially cost as much as the original product. [...]

Very nice for older kids, may be too gross for little ones.
Obviously the caterpillars can't be packed in the box, but they shouldn't be an extra cost. There should be a paid card to send in when you're ready for them.

My main complaint is that the information is sketchy. A more informative child-friendly booklet should be included. Also the butterflies do poop red liquid which is pretty gross for very small kids. The white mesh cage looks really bad with all those bloody-looking smears on it. My 7 year old was okay with it when I explained it was "special butterfly poop" but my 5 year old, the nominal owner of the butterflies, lost interest quickly when the treehouse was no longer pretty.

an extraordinary experience
There is nothing more extraordinary than the experience of taking care of "a life" & setting it free. My 5-year-old has learned something quite valuable through this toy, which is well made. We'll be able to use it again for several more summers.

Also, of the 10 caterpillars we received, 9 became butterflies and flew away, while 2 returned to our garden and lingered for a day. We even had a smaller butterfly with a bent wing, whom we thought may not be able to fly away very well, but it flew-off just as easily as the others did...a very touching moment, which became a lesson in life my daughter may never forget.

ONCE WE UNDERSTOOD THE DIRECTIONS, WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THIS. ANY SEINFELD FAN WOULD LIKE IT. THE ONLY QUESTIONS WE DID NOT LIKE WERE PERTAINING TO REAL NAMES OF GUEST ACTORS, DIRECTORS, ETC. OTHERWISE FUN QUESTIONS. CAN BE PLAYED WITH 2 TO 4 OR A BIG GROUP.

More for the casual fan...
I agree with the reviewers who say this a bit underwhelming. I know it just can't just be me, cause this is a show with so many die hard followers who can quote word for word. I mean the only hard questions are the ones about the random actors and their careers aside from Seinfeld... but even when I got a hard one I guessed and got it right. I didn't miss a question when I played.

Let me give you an example, they have a game where it plays a scene and bleeps out a word that you have to guess - they used a clip from The Soup Nazi episode and bleeped out Elaine saying "Soup Nazi".

I give it 3 stars because I love anything Seinfeld related. But if my girlfriend or I played anyone they would not have fun because we would be too good. And the generic Seinfeld bass music is annoying. Couldn't they get the actual song?

So You Think You Know Seinfeld...?
The Scene It? Seinfeld Deluxe Edition DVD game is a fun, entertaining way to challenge your brain while enjoying popular scenes from the famous hit television show. Before getting started players will benefit from using either the included quick start guide or the on-screen tutorial for a run-through of how the game is played. To set up the game put the included DVD into your player and choose one player as the DVD Master who will operate the remote control throughout the game.

Next, decide whether you'd like to play a shorter or longer version of the game and fold the included Flextime game board accordingly. Each player then chooses a metal token and places it on the start space. Each turn a player rolls both the numbered die and the eight-sided category die. The numbered die indicates how many spaces forward the player may move upon successfully completing the challenge associated with the category indicated on the category die.

Challenges associated with the various categories range from answering questions following a scene played on the DVD to answering questions indicated on the included trivia Cards. Once a player has made their way to the end of the game path, they have the opportunity to win the game by either successfully beating all players in a final All Play To Win challenge or by successfully completing the Final Cut challenge.

Alternatively, if a board game is not your style or if you'd simply like to entertain party guests throughout the evening, you may choose the Party Play function on the Main Menu of the DVD. In this mode the DVD shuffles among a variety of scenes and challenges automatically so that you and your guests can enjoy one great clip or puzzler after the other all night long.

Definately not what it used to be.
I got this toy a over a year ago (maybe even two???? they had just came back out). I have three boys 18 months,3 years, and 4 years and NONE of them will play with this. I have shown them many times how it bounces and have put them on it but.... Houston... we have a problem. The toy has changed and does not go forward as it did in the days that I played with it (not THAT long ago). I still keep hoping that one of my boys may start to use it. I couldn't rate the durability on this toy accurately as it has seen no use. It just sits there.

Don't bother with this one. I feel it has been a waste of my money

I remember the Inch Worm from my childhood. Thi one is very similar and my nephew loves it.

Great value!
I gave this phone to my 18 mth old son and he loved it. So the next year I bought some more to give to other kids as gifts and it was still a hit.
Kids just seem to love it.

As entertaining as a calculator
If my 2 year old would ever play with this toy I'm sure it would be educational for him. It plays a bit of music and says letters and numbers out loud as your child hits the buttons. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars for educational value was because it says all the numbers out loud except for "zero." When you hit "zero" it says, "bye bye."
My 2 year old who loves to play with the regular telephone wasn't interested in this toy at all. There's nothing "fun" about it for a very small child.

Great learning toy
I bought this for my one year old, but my toddler likes it too. It is great at teaching colors, the alphabet, sounds, and playing fun music.

favorite toy
My son was not yet 2 years old when I found him singing his ABCs along with this toy. It had not even occurred to me to teach him this yet, but apparently I didn't need to, because as much as he played with this toy, he had taught himself!

I hate this toy!!!
We got this as a gift. Baby (12mo) loves it, pushes the button on the back or sets music off with the legs and bounces up and down, quite pleased. But the volume control is on the back, easy access for the child, and when the legs are touched (pretty sensitive), a new song/sound is set off. So it's a constant change of song and it's loud and soooo annoying. Can't imagine it's really all that educational. There are other educational toys out there that are less irritating for the parents. When pulled, legs don't move or anything, pretty boring. Get this for the child of a parent you don't like!

My son is 18 Month. He likes to stand on the seat of the bike. I hope there is a bell strap for it.

First bike for my son
Bought this item for my 2year old son. Assembly is simple. Quality is good. My son is enjoying with rocker & bike.

Big wheel with a handle
I was really hoping that this trike would be perfect for my 2 year old to go to and from the park. She hates being in her stroller while her big sister is riding a bike, so I thought this would work. It does not! If my daughter is "riding" the trike, peddling and turning the wheel, it is impossible to push her straight. It becomes frustrating for me and takes forever to get to the park. Plus, the pin for the handle keeps coming out so the handle doesn't stay up. This was definitely a disappointment. I have ended up taking the handle off and my girls use it like a big wheel at home. So, they enjoy it, and my little one loves having her own "bike" but it is not what I expected. Maybe if she was older it would work better, but for now, it stays in the backyard.

Great Activity
I purchased this as a gift for my one-year old neice in Las Vegas. I thought it would be good because it can be used indoors or outdoors. (The
heat in the summer, makes it too hot to play outside) I thought it may be
a little "old" for her but she loves it. It can be lowered so a one-year
old can reach it. My sister says it can be tippy so you have to make sure it has the sand added to the base. I have seen videos of my neice and it looks like she could play with it all day. I would have to recommend this for all kids and am thinking about getting one for my 2-year old daughter.

fun, but wobbly
I like this product, and am happy to have purchased it, however I feel that the construction could use some improvement, specifically where the backboard connects to the post. Don't get me wrong...it's secure - but it is wobbly, and makes me wonder if it won't pop out after it's been used a while, if our child were to pull on the net (which they do, at times).

Fun for the whole family
Our entire family loves this basketball hoop. It was a Father's Day gift for my husband from our children and they have enjoyed shooting hoops together. The height is easily adjustable making it a great toy for all our kids.

Great Christmas Gift Tips For Kids Ages 7-12

Can anyone tell me are these big kids or small teenagers?

If you are in contact with this age group on regular basis, you most likely would agree that it depends on the day and situation. Well, really the hour.

So the dilemma for Christmas gift giving becomes finding a Christmas gift for this age range that does not offend their 'grown-upness' but still plays to their childlike tendencies. After all, a nine year old is still a kid.

To help you sort through some of thinking behind finding the right gift this group, I have put together a few tips for you.

1. Buy Gifts that Give the Kids Permission to Play

There are some very fun toys out there that are targeted towards more advanced role-playing. Two examples would be -

1. A helmet with voice activated noises and lights, yes very cool.

2. Deluxe model transformers: these have additional features that younger kids would not know how to play or would break. Playing swords with a helmet that has lights everywhere would be great fun for all ages. Anything that flies or moves would be great interactive gifts.

2. Creative Gifts

So much fun to shop for! You can find just about anything you can dream up for this age group in the creative thought line.

Block Building Set

There are block-building sets with motors so your creations actually move. You can build Lego or other Lego type toys into transforming robots. My nephew loves his 'creature' like this and will tell you about his dad and him building it. K'nex and Magnetix (if you do not have small children or pets in the house) are tons of fun.

Science Experiments

I found lots of science type experiments that the kids would have a great time doing. Whether it is stargazing, exploding volcanoes, or watching a larvae to butterfly you can find an activity that is specific to the interest of your child.

3. Interactive Family Games

This age group tends to be very self-critical and desperately needs the reassurance of adults in his/her life. Interactive games are a great way to strengthen these relationships.

Board Games

A fun board game I found was Gobblet. Although I have not played this game personally it looks like a fast moving fun game. I highly suggest at least one gift that is not an electronic enable a different type of family interaction.

Game Systems

And course there are game systems very targeted at this age group, so depending on the system your child has you may want to consider a new game. My family as a Nintendo wii so I am looking at the Mario driving game.

4. Electronics

Each family will have to make their own decision about the age appropriateness for their children. Very popular choices in this age group: cell phones, digital cameras, Nintendo ds and game systems: Sony ps 3 and Nintendo Wii.

No mater what you decide for a gift it is important for the child to feel special and loved. Choosing a gift that compliments their personality will let the child know that you notice them. Possibly consider a short note to the child to put in with your gift telling the child how much you love them and one or two special attributes you have noticed. Even if during gift opening that note seems unappreciated you can be assured that your note will be saved long past Christmas morning. Because aside from all the gift hype at Christmas, deep down each child just wants to know that they are loved and special.
